Early College Programs

The Office of Early College Programs was established to facilitate and expand the college’s partnerships with district high schools in educating secondary students at the college level. The office oversees two programs—Dual Enrollment and Scholastic Institute.

Scholastic Institute
Lafayette-Yalobusha Technical Center hosts Scholastic Institute. In partnership with local high schools, Scholastic Institute offers the unique opportunity to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree during the last two years of high school.  Beginning their junior year, students enroll in dual credit courses at their high school and at Northwest’s Lafayette-Yalobusha Technical Center campus in Oxford.  Students can earn up to 60 hours of transferable college credit to universities while participating in college clubs and activities and have access to student services, including transfer advising.
