Cosmetology Instructor Trainee

The Cosmetology Instructor Trainee Option prepares individuals who hold a current Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology license to teach Cosmetology.  

• Instructor Trainee Option offered at the Senatobia campus only. 

• Program requires 1000 clock hours for completion.

• Non-Degree seeking

• Program is not eligible for financial aid.

How do I get into the Cosmetology Instructor Trainee Option program?

• Complete an Application for Admissions to the college.

• Complete an Application to the Instructor Trainee Option program.

• Hold a current Mississippi license to practice in the field of cosmetology. 

• Be at least 20 years of age. 

• Have a high school diploma or HSE/GED on file with the admissions office

• Be a graduate of a licensed cosmetology school in Mississippi or any other state. 

• Submit a resume. 

• Must have completed one Mississippi Cosmetology Board “methods of teaching” seminar and have completed 6 semester hours in college courses approved by the Mississippi Cosmetology Board.
