Biography

Alyssa Algee has been a Theatre Instructor at Northwest Mississippi Community College since 2014. She discovered her passion for theatre in college and has since earned an Associate of Arts in Speech & Theatre from NWCC, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Mississippi University for Women, a Master of Arts in Theatre from Regent University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Education from Mississippi University for Women.

Ms. Algee enjoys all aspects of theatre, both as an educator and practitioner. Some of her favorite performance roles include Demeter (CATS), Miss Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Dogberry (Much Ado About Nothing). She has also directed productions such as An Inspector Calls, The Adventures of Nate the Great, and A Doll’s House. In addition to performance and directing, she has a strong passion for theatrical design, particularly lighting design.

At NWCC, Ms. Algee teaches Musical Theatre students and co-teaches courses including Stage Makeup; Voice, Diction, & Phonetics; Fundamentals of Theatre; Acting II; Introduction to Directing; and Introduction to Playwriting. She is dedicated to inspiring young theatre artists and looks forward to continuing her career in theatre education for years to come.
