Following two years of preparation, Northwest Mississippi Community College has announced its creation of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. The PTA program will be an essential program in Northwest’s School of Health Sciences.
Northwest Mississippi Community College officials have announced that the college has received approximately $2.8 million in emergency grant funds from the US Department of Education Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). The fund was created as a result of the passage by Congress of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. Funds from the grant will be used to provide emergency assistance to students with expenses incurred due to the disruption of campus activities as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
