Plan for Distributing TECHNOLOGY grantS

Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWCC) allocated $1,450,000 in Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) Institutional from the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) Federal Economic Stimulus Package.

Eligibility

The following criteria was established for students to apply for the technology grants.

Technology grants will be made available to NWCC students that submit an application and:

  1. Have technology needs due to COVID-19 and transition to virtual learning requirements;
  2. Have incurred technology expenses related to the disruption of learning related to COVID-19;
  3. Currently enrolled at NWCC during the fall 2021 semester as a full time student (12 hours or more);
  4. Does not have a balance of $500 or more. 

Award Determination

NWCC awarded over 800 technology devices including MacBook Airs and Dell laptops, hot spots with one year of service, and technology accessories to Fall 2021.

Students that submitted the application for a Technology Scholarship were notified on October 13, 2021.

NWCC Bookstore on Senatobia Campus will disburse technology packages based on the student’s grant award. All Technology Grants are required to be picked up from the NWCC Bookstore on the Senatobia Campus.
