Townsend gives public lecture as part of MHC award

Northwest Mississippi Community College history instructor Carla Townsend (second from right) receives a certificate and $400 check from the Mississippi Humanities Council (MHC) for being chosen as the college’s Humanities Teacher of the Year for the organization. Townsend, who teaches at DeSoto Center, gave a public lecture entitled “One Woman’s Fight Against the Butcher of Lyon” Feb. 26. Congratulating her are (from left) Associate Vice President of Academic Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness Carolyn Wiley, Northwest President Dr. Michael Heindl and MHC representative Molly McMillan.
