Nursing Department establishes Tidwell Endowment

Members of the Northwest Mississippi Community College Nursing Department were recognized during the nursing graduation and pinning ceremony recently for establishing the Amy Tidwell Scholarship Fund in memory of Amy Elizabeth Dempsey Tidwell of Batesville, who was a Northwest nursing graduate and an adjunct faculty member.  The nursing faculty and staff, led by Director of Nursing Instruction, Dr. Denise Bynum (first row, second from right), were honored by members of the college’s executive team including (first row, from left) Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Matthew Domas; Northwest President, Dr. Michael Heindl; Executive Director of Institutional Advancement Patti Gordon (third from right); DeSoto Center Dean, Dr. Keith Reed (second row, far right); Associate Vice President of Academic Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness Carolyn Wiley (third row, far left) and Associate Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management, Dr. Tonyalle Rush (third row, far right). Members of Tidwell’s family, including (front row, center l to r) her husband, Will; daughter, Sarah Beth and mother, Susan Dempsey were also on hand for the presentation.
