What are you looking forward to most in retirement?
Helping with our precious grandson- Sanders - teaching him to swim will be a blessing. Water aerobics, walking with my friends, party planning and getting current with my soaps are items on my list. Staying home for more than five minutes and having William tolerate me will be nice. I look forward to doing ANYTHING I WANT!!!
What is one of your fondest memories of your time at Northwest?
I love teaching and advising students. When a student comes back years later and tells you he appreciates you- it brings everything full circle. Watching my son play baseball and having my future daughter in law as a work- study are fond NWCC memories. My coworkers and friends from the Calhoun Building, Tate Hall and now the ARC- you are all the best and I could not have done it without you!
What is your favorite Northwest event to attend?
It is not possible to choose a favorite beyond “anything Northwest”. Football, basketball, baseball and all sports at NWCC are the best. Art shows, plays, concerts, and representing NWCC for all events has been an honor.

What is one of your fondest memories of your time at Northwest?
There are so many memories of my time at Northwest it is hard to pick just one! The one I always tell people though is about having registration in the snow. Dr. David Haraway was President, and we had just returned from Christmas break. Karen Adair and I were setting up for registration in the Coliseum, which normally took a couple of days. Snow was NOT predicted at all! We were oblivious to what was happening outside, then Sam Perry came in and said, ‘hey, ya’ll know it’s snowing outside’? Of course we thought he was kidding, but he was not. The ground was already covered. He gave me a ride back to the Admin building where I went straight to our VP’s office. He asked what we needed to get finished, and I told him HELP! The entire Physical Plant came to the rescue and we got it all done! Two days later students registered, they were doing donuts in the snow in the parking lot, but they got registered! That is what most of my memories are about, teamwork.

What is your favorite Northwest event to attend?
I think my fondest memory from my time at Northwest was my Retirement Reception. I definitely had mixed feelings that day! it was very hard to leave a place where so many people had become family to me, from all the campuses. But that day I was able to feel from so many people, and hopefully express back to them, the great love and friendship we have for each other.

What is one of your fondest memories of your time at Northwest?
One of my fondest memories since I've been at Northwest is when my department/employees accomplished a huge task of meeting deadlines that seemed impossible to meet at the time; but they pulled together as a team and we were able to meet the deadline and finish strong. We rewarded them by planning and taking a trip to Biloxi. It was a huge success and all the employees participated and enjoyed the team building trip.
