Proctored Exams
Students can be required to take one or two proctored exams during the designated exam window within the semester. A proctored exam is supervised by a proctor at a college or proctoring center to confirm the exam taker's identity and maintain exam integrity. These exams are required to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards, ensuring that the student who registers for an online course is the same one who completes it and earns credit. Proctored exams help maintain the same academic standards for online courses as in-person ones, ensuring fairness, security, and academic integrity.
Northwest’s main testing lab is located at the Senatobia campus. Limited testing options are given by the instructors or eLearning staff at the DeSoto and Oxford centers. If you miss your exam appointment always contact your instructor before reaching out to eLearning to see what your other options could be.
