Northwest Mississippi Community College's President Dr. Michael J. Heindl has received the prestigious T.P. Vinson Award from the University of Mississippi. On Sept. 3, the University of Mississippi's Director of DeSoto and Grenada campuses, Dr. April Holifield-Scott, gave the award to Dr. Heindl for his outstanding work on the partnership between Northwest and Ole Miss.

Northwest Mississippi Community College kicked off its Centennial year on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with college officials, administration, students and employees, alongside state and local politicians including Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, and the local community.

Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts brings Motown to Senatobia on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. with the Four Tops. They are known for their hits like "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and "Baby I Need Your Loving."

The Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of the Frank Berle Brooks Memorial Endowed Scholarship. It was created by the Brooks family to honor his life, hard work, and commitment to his family and community. Beginning in Fall 2027, the scholarship will be awarded to graduates of Water Valley High School as they pursue their education at Northwest.

Northwest Mississippi Community College will officially launch its Centennial Celebration in September 2026, beginning a series of events commemorating 100 years of transforming students, families and communities throughout Northwest Mississippi.

Northwest Mississippi Community College Cybersecurity alumnus and Fayetteville native, Easton Hatch, found his future career and passion at Northwest. Although his time as a student was fraught with medical issues, Hatch found fulfillment and success at the college.
