The Northwest Mississippi College Department of Fine Arts is proud to announce its steampunk Victorian style portrayal of William Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice," on the Northwest Fine Arts stage March 30 - April 2.
The Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation honored outstanding community leaders at the inaugural Northwest Soiree, held on Saturday, March 25 at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts on the Senatobia campus.
The Cannon Motors Annual Scholarship is for students who maintain a 2.0 GPA and are enrolled in the Automotive Technology or Collision Repair Technology program. Scholarship recipients will receive $2,000 per school year.
The Danny and Dona Plumlee Annual Baseball Scholarship has been established at Northwest Mississippi Community College to be awarded to student athletes from DeSoto County who are playing baseball and who fall outside of the bracket of qualifying for supporting financial aid.
The festival will be a combination of workshops, critiques, and afternoon/evening performances in the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts. This event serves the region educationally and encourages participation in jazz programs while focusing on clinician commentary and interaction.
"Northwest is a great school, and it is growing. I feel like we need more kids coming into the workforce with a skill and a trade, and Northwest is a great place for that," he added. They decided to name the scholarship Storage Plus, because he feels like that is a name that people in the area will recognize.
