Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts announced its Fall 2023 season on Tuesday, May 23. In addition to tickets, event sponsorships are available to individuals as well as area businesses.
Northwest Mississippi Community College received a check for a $10,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation May 24. This grant is awarded to help strengthen literacy initiatives, enhance programs, and make tomorrow better through education. "We are proud to support your organization and wish you every success in the coming year," said Denine Torr, executive director of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
Northwest Mississippi Community College Oxford campus student, Conner Diamond of Oxford, just finished up his sophomore year and has worked hard to become a top performing student. Diamond is on the general college pathway, but he hopes to become a Physician Assistant. He credits his family's habits as well as his own to his success.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's Office of Marketing and Strategic Communications attended the statewide College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) conference May 21-23 in Oxford. The team took home seven awards during their annual awards ceremony, and a Northwest sophomore, Lauren Eldred of Hernando, was named a CPRAM 2023-2024 scholarship recipient. The team also got the opportunity to meet colleagues from around the state to explore PR trends and hear from speakers on related topics.
Northwest Mississippi Community College Athletics is hosting Dance Camp June 19-20 and Cheer Camp June 21-22 for children ages 4-13 for $100 per attending child. The camps will be held at Northwest's main campus in Senatobia.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's Concourse Workforce Training Center in Batesville hosted Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves on Wednesday, May 17. Gov. Reeves and other state officials presented a $3.5 million check to fund the expansion of educational resources at the Concourse for technical job training that will help produce a more employable and educated workforce for Mississippi for years to come.
