Northwest Mississippi Community College's Foundation has officially announced the honorees for the 2025 Northwest Soiree, "Masquerade Among the Stars," which will be held March 29, 2025. This year's event is once again presented by Mini Systems, Inc. of Batesville.
"Education is the key to all things," said Julie Correro, Northwest Mississippi Community College's 2024 Alumna of the Year.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's Foundation present the Northwest Soiree: Masquerade Among the Stars unmasked the presenting sponsor as third-time Soiree presenting Sponsor, Mini Systems, Inc.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's School of Health Sciences announced that their latest class of Practical Nursing students passed the NCLEX with a 100% passing rate. This marks a trend for Northwest, with the past few semesters of Senatobia campus Practical Nursing students passing the exams at 100% pass rates since 2021. The national average is 88.9% for the pass rate on the NCLEX-PN, according to Jessica Barham, lead instructor at the Senatobia campus for Practical Nursing.
Northwest Mississippi Community College's Entertainment Industry Studies Program held their first masterclass with industry professional, Jason Gillespie, on Sept. 24 at Ranger Records, the college's first-ever recording studio.
Heavenly Sunshine team, comprised of Ed Schreiner, Mark Wasson, Curt Spencer, and Trent Adams, won first place at the Northwest Mississippi Community College DeSoto Center and Ole Miss DeSoto 2+2 Fundraiser Golf Tournament at Cherokee Valley Golf Course in Olive Branch on Thursday, Sept. 19 at the 20th annual golf tournament which raised approximately $25,000.
