Welcome to the Student Resources site of the NWCC Virtual College!  On behalf of all Student Affairs Staff members, we look forward to serving you!  In this Student Resources site, you will find several important services highlighted for virtual students.
The online libraries section includes several essential learning resources for students, including MELO (Mississippi Electronic Libraries Online), Magnolia, and the WWW Virtual Library.  Should you have any questions regarding library resources, feel free to contact the Director of Learning Resources, Margaret Rogers, at mrogers@northwestms.edu.
Special sections highlight other important services for virtual students, including counseling, financial aid, career services, and disability support services.  You will also find an online version of both the Bulletin and our Student Guide/Planner.  The Student Guide contains lots of helpful information for students, including a comprehensive list of services for students.  The Guide also contains many of the "rules of the road" for students at Northwest.  Other sections of the Northwest website contain important information regarding admissions, scholarships, sporting opportunities, etc.  A comprehensive telephone and e-mail directory are also available.
Also contained in the Guide is a calendar of events.  Most student activities, sporting events, musical and theatrical events, pageants, and important dates and deadlines for students are listed in the calendar.  All events are open to students with an identification card; and with few exceptions they are free to students.
An online version of our campus crime brochure, Preventing Campus Crime, is also available for your review.  It contains important information regarding personal safety.  Copies of all our publications may be picked up at our campuses or are available by mail upon request.
Northwest policy and applicable federal statutes prohibit institutional discrimination against students on the basis of sex, disability, race, creed, color or national origin. Students who believe that their rights under law or campus policy have been violated may seek to resolve their concerns using the “Grievance and Arbitration Procedures” detailed in both the Northwest Bulletin and the Student Guide. Please contact me at my office, 662-562-3305 or by e-mail at dsmith@northwestms.edu for further information.
Student Government Associations exist at all three campuses to provide students with opportunities to participate in campus decision making.  The Senatobia campus Student Executive Council represents the needs of virtual students.  The Chairman of the SEC can be contacted at sec@northwestms.edu.
Please feel free to contact me at dsmith@northwestms.edu should you have any questions about Northwest or student services.  If I do not know the answer, I will ensure that it gets to the person who does have an answer for you.

Once again, we look forward to working with you!
