The Disability Support Services Office (DSSO) provides services for disabled students. Located on the second floor of the McLendon Union, the office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Documentation is required to certify a disability.

Some of the services available through this office are as follows:

  • Counseling
  • Assistance with registration
  • Assistance in making the learning environment more accessible
  • Counseling and advising on programs, careers, etc. for students with disabilities and their families
  • Extended time on tests
  • Mobility orientation for visually impaired
  • Peer tutors
  • Taped texts
  • Assistance in working with administration, faculty and staff regarding accomodations
  • Exam locations with few distractions
  • Henry Womble Memorial Scholarship for a deserving disabled student
