The Disability Support Services Office (DSSO) provides services for disabled students. Located on the second floor of the McLendon Union, the office is open from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Documentation is required to certify a disability.
Some of the services available through this office are as follows:
- Counseling
- Assistance with registration
- Assistance in making the learning environment more accessible
- Counseling and advising on programs, careers, etc. for students with disabilities and their families
- Extended time on tests
- Mobility orientation for visually impaired
- Peer tutors
- Taped texts
- Assistance in working with administration, faculty and staff regarding accomodations
- Exam locations with few distractions
- Henry Womble Memorial Scholarship for a deserving disabled student
