Other activities include karaoke in the Haraway Center cafeteria on Wednesday, from 5-7 p.m. Hypnotist Erick Kand will perform tonight in the Haraway Center cafeteria, and the show is free to students with a valid student I.D.

The annual “Sidewalk Chalk” art contest is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23. Students who want to participate should be ready at 1 p.m. outside Ranger Stadium. The cash prizes will be $75 for first place and $25 for second place.
Saturday, Oct. 24 is packed with activities starting with the Homecoming Celebration for alumni and friends at 10:30 a.m. It will be held in the Haraway Center. At noon, a barbeque picnic will be held outside of the Haraway Center.
A pep rally will get everyone ready for the game at 12:45 p.m., followed by pregame activities that will start at 1:40 p.m. at Ranger Stadium. Kick-off for the game between the Rangers and the Northeast Tigers is at 2 p.m.
During halftime, the elected maids will make their way to the field for the crowning of Northwest’s 2009 Homecoming queen. Freshman maids include Brittany Arendale of Hernando, Alisha Lundy of Olive Branch, and Meagan Woodard of Southaven for the Senatobia campus. Freshman maids representing DeSoto Center are Dayanna Guerrero and Ashley McCain, both of Horn Lake. LYTC freshman maid is Jessica Woodard of Water Valley. The LYTC sophomore maid is Kimberly Kellum of Vardaman.
Sophomore maids in the running for Homecoming queen are: Taneka Miller of Greenville and Brittany Thigpen of Olive Branch representing the Senatobia campus, Demi Gray of Walls and Maribel Medina of Horn Lake from the DeSoto Center, and Shanice Caradine of Grenada and Kim Kellum of Vardaman from the Oxford Center.
Mr. and Miss NWCC from all campuses will also be recognized during halftime—with Joshua Walker of Greenville and Alandra Bell of Crenshaw representing the Senatobia campus, Henry Williams of Horn Lake and Apryl Askew of Memphis representing DeSoto Center, and Chris Ivy of Tupelo and Tanika Chapman of Batesville as Mr. and Miss NWCC for the Oxford campus.
