Article by T.J. Jernigan

Over the fall break, two Northwest students from out of state were arrested and charged with felony and malicious mischief after vandalizing several buildings and vehicles on campus.

John Bivins, a freshman from Rivera Beach, Fla., and Jarrell Miller, a freshman from Richmond, Va. were arrested on Oct. 13 after allegedly spray-painting obscenities on the president’s home, 11 vehicles, the John Deere Agricultural Technology Building, and on the structure underneath the visitor’s side of the football stadium.

The vandalism on the president’s home, which is currently under construction, was painted over a few days after the vandalism took place.

According to Northwest Chief of Police Al Dodson, it will be a while before the college knows how much the total damages will cost.Full story

SEC Discusses Campus Improvements
Article by Eddie Lynn Bright

Anyone that has been on the Senatobia campus for any period of time would notice that there are improvements being made. While there are three separate construction projects underway at the time, the Student Executive Council says that there are still more improvements needed.

According to Northwest’s Director of Campus Life and Housing, Aime Anderson, the Student Government Organization and the Student Executive Council are working diligently to ensure that these improvements to the campus be made.

The S.E.C, led by Anderson and presided over by President John Farrish, has been very busy lately spearheading many projects that seek to make this campus a better place for all its students.

Student safety has been the main concern of the council for the fall semester. Just recently the group has been pushing for crosswalks to be placed in front of the Haraway Center, as well as pointing out unlit areas of campus, so that better lighting could be put in place for students with night class.
