John Deere recently sponsored an AMS (Ag Management Solutions) Customer Training Program at Northwest Mississippi Community College in the Agricultural Technology Building on the Senatobia campus.
This specialized customer-training event was taught by AMS instructors and factory specialists on July 13-16, and was designed for customers wanting to increase their operational knowledge on John Deere AMS products, according toHeather Gerstner, customer support representative for John Deere.
Approximately 125 John Deere customers and dealers from Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas attended the three-day program.
Participants rotated through several different training stations ranging from Apex™ Farm Management Software – where both beginner and more advanced users have different class options – to GreenStar™ GS2 Rate Controller & Swatch Control Pro™, Documentation and GPS & Guidance.
"Our John Deere training program has conducted a tremendous amount of training for dealer technicians from this part of the country in the past. However, this is the first time that we have ever had customers visit our campus. We are excited to have the opportunity to show off our campus, faculty and staff,” said Beth Dickerson, work-based learning coordinator at Northwest.
The Agricultural Technology/John Deere Tech Program is a two-year curriculum plan designed to teach students about agricultural mechanization and train John Deere Service Technicians.
