“How to Use Your Blackberry” will be offered on Saturday, Jan. 24 or Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Tunica Building, Room 129.

“Beginning Cake Decorating” with Instructor Kim Steinman will be taught on Mondays, Jan. 26 - March 2 from 6-8 p.m. in the Art Building, Room 205. “Landscaping 101” will be offered Thursdays Jan. 29 - March 5 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in Yalobusha Hall, Room 120. Students will be encouraged to bring a photo of the particular area they would like to redo. Students will learn how to draw a site plan, plan their work and work their plan. Students will also be introduced to plant material, pest control, site preparation, landscape design and irrigation basics. Class will take field trips on campus and visit local garden centers. The fee for the course is $50
“Silk Ribbon Embroidery” will be offered on Mondays, Feb. 2, 9 and 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the R.C. Pugh Library. Silk Ribbon Embroidery is a romantic old art that uses ribbon, embroidery floss and perle cotton to work beautiful floral motifs and decorative stitch patterns by hand on garments and accessories. This beautiful and timeless embellishment adds a touch of elegance to clothing, home decor and gifts. Experience with needlework would be helpful, but is not required. Students are asked to bring a small pair of scissors. The fee for the class is $40 plus supplies.
“Instant Piano” will be taught on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6-9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building, Room 110. Instructor David Haynes will teach a short one-evening course that will teach enough “secrets of the trade” to make piano playing a part of anyone’s life. Students will learn all the chords needed to play any pop song in any style and any key. This is a beginning class in chord piano techniques. If you can already find middle C, and know the meaning of “Every Good Boy Does Fine,’ you already know enough to enroll in this class.
