Local genealogy expert Gail Tomlinson, current president of the Mississippi Historical Society will offer “Genealogy:Explore Your Roots” on Tuesdays, Feb. 3-24 from 6-8 p.m. at the Tate County Genealogical and Historical Society, according to Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Continuing Education at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Students will begin an exciting and fascinating exploration by tracing their family trees and retrieving information that will be useful for families for generations to come. Topics that will be covered will be interviewing family, recording data, using a genealogical library, using microfilm and microfiche, Internet genealogy and family history software.
The fee for the class will be $50. The Tate County Genealogical and Historical Society is located at 105 Court Street, on the second floor of the Leroy Crockett Building, next to the Tate County Courthouse.
