Tickets for Northwest Mississippi Community College’s production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” will be reserved seating only, according to Jo Ellen Logan, the show’s director.
“Cats” will be performed in the Northwest Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus on Thursday, Feb. 26 - Friday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 1 at 2:30 p.m.
According to Logan, tickets may be purchased in advance through the Northwest Business Office, which is located in the basement of the James P. McCormick Administration Building.
Logan stated that ticket prices have changed. Reserved seating is $10, and tickets for students and seniors are $5. “We have not changed our ticket prices since 1975. I still think it is a bargain in entertainment,“ Logan said.
According to Webber’s Web site, since “Cats” first opened on London’s West End stage in 1981, it has become one of the world's best-known and best-loved musicals.
With a plot based on T.S Eliot's “Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats” and award-winning music composed by Webber, it has since been presented in more than 20 countries and in about 250 cities, including such diverse destinations as Buenos Aires, Seoul, Helsinki and Singapore.
