Beginning sign language class set

Beginning American Sign Language (ASL), worth one continuing education unit (1.0 CEU), will be offered on Saturdays beginning Feb. 28, according to Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Continuing Education at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

The class will be held Feb. 28- March 7 from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Tunica Building, Room 129 on the Senatobia campus, Lowder said.

The course will teach students the basics of ASL. Students will learn to utilize elements of the language, such as the alphabet and vocabulary. They will develop communication skills between deaf and hearing people.
