Make Up Days Set for April 1and & May 7
By Nancy Patterson | 3/12/2010
The Academic Council and Executive Council have approved the following two days to be used as make up days for the two days that we have missed due to bad weather.
Day 1: Thursday, April 1.
This was to be the first of two days for our Easter Holiday. Instructors will treat this day as a Friday class.
Day 2: Friday, May 7.
This was originally the first day of Spring Semester final exams. Instructors will treat this day as a Friday class. We have incorporated the exams for that day into the exam days on Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13. Please see the attached revised final exam schedule. In order to incorporate the exams, we had to change the times for existing exams on Wednesday and Thursday.
Please note that the following provisions continue to apply for the revised schedule:
1. All examinations will be held in regular classrooms with instructors in charge.
2. There is a policy of no exemption from final examinations.
3. No examination may be given early without the written permission of the appropriate Dean. Permission is granted only in the rarest of circumstances.
4. Students with three examinations in one day may make arrangements with the instructor to take an examination with an earlier class if the instructor has the same class taught earlier.
According to Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Chuck Strong, "I realize the solutions that I have presented might not be optimal for some people. However, the weather conditions this spring have not been optimal either. I trust that everyone will work together to ensure a smooth transition into these make up days. "
