Symphonic Band to hold Winter Concert

Northwest Mississippi Community College's Symphonic Band will hold its Winter Concert Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus. Admission to the event is free.

The band, conducted by Director of Bands John Ungurait, will begin the performance with "The Star-Spangled Banner," followed by "Gavorkna Fanfare" by Jack Stamp and "The Lion of Lucerne," written by Jim Curnow in honor of the famous sculpture in Switzerland.

The concert will also feature selections by Robert W. Smith, R. Vaughan Williams, and Robert Longfield. Assistant Director of Bands Howard Luttrell will be featured trumpet soloist on "A Trumpeter's Lullaby" by Leroy Anderson.
