Nursing student wins 2007 Northwest Beauty Review

Amanda Renee Brooks, a sophomore from Scobey, has won the 2007 Beauty Review at Northwest Mississippi Community College. The 19-year old nursing major was named “Most Beautiful” out of 30 contestants in the annual pageant, which was held on Nov. 13. Brooks, who graduated from Kirk Academy in Grenada, is the daughter of Chuck and Cathy Brooks.

Runners-up in the pageant were Emilee Jackson of Yazoo City, first runner-up; Lauri Williams of Senatobia, second runner up; Regan Dees of Carthage, third runner-up; and Victoria Head of Senatobia, fourth runner-up.

Other finalists were Chelsea Hadley of Byhalia, LeCatherine Ivy of Taylor, Brittany Lloyd of Batesville, Mary Petterson of Olive Branch and Crystal Rinker of Oxford.

Escorts for the pageant were Colton Chambers of Southaven and Daniel Waller of Batesville. Dr, Ken Sipley, division director of Fine Arts at Northwest, served as the master of ceremonies. Emma May, Mallory McGehee, Clara Grace Watson, Josh Reeves and Bobby Rowland provided entertainment for the pageant. The director of the pageant is Pam Wooten.

The Most Beautiful and four beauties will be showcased in the 2008 Rocketeer, the college yearbook.
