CEU workshops for teachers to be offered in June

Three non-credit CEU (Continuing Education Unit) workshops designed specifically for teachers will be offered by Northwest Mississippi Community College's Division of Continuing Education in June on the Senatobia campus.

Spanish Workshop for Classroom Teachers is set for June 1 and 2, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m., in the Calhoun Building, Room 110. Deana Pittman will be the instructor. (1.2 CEUs)

The workshop is targeted for teachers who want to integrate Spanish into their curriculum. Hands-on activities in mathematics, social studies, art and reading will be covered. The fee is $95.

Introduction to Excel for Teachers will be held June 9 and 10, from 9 am. to noon, and from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Physical Science Building Computer Lab.

Teachers will learn to use Excel to track grades, organize class rolls and create expense reports and charts for clubs. Linda Hogan will be the instructor, and the fee is $95. (1.0 CEU)

Teachers and Digital Cameras will be taught June 16-17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Tunica Building, Lab 136. Earline Cocke will be the instructor.

This course is designed to help teachers master concepts of using a digital camera through hands-on experience. Participants will learn to crop, resize, edit, retouch, print and e-mail digital photos. The fee is $95. (1.0 CEU)
