NWCC to hold two commencement ceremonies May 14

Northwest Mississippi Community College's largest graduating class will celebrate the 88th commencement with two separate ceremonies May 14 in Howard Coliseum, according to Dr. Gary Lee Spears, registrar.
Students receiving an Associate of Applied Science degree or career certificate will graduate at 10 a.m.
Students receiving Associate of Arts degrees including those in the associate degree nursing program will participate in a ceremony at 3 p.m.
Graduates in this record-breaking year of 577 participants include 247 Associate of Arts, 168 Associate of Applied Science and 162 career certificates.

Northwest Mississippi Community College's largest graduating class will celebrate the 88th commencement with two separate ceremonies May 14 in Howard Coliseum, according to Dr. Gary Lee Spears, registrar.
Students receiving an Associate of Applied Science degree or career certificate will graduate at 10 a.m.
Students receiving Associate of Arts degrees including those in the associate degree nursing program will participate in a ceremony at 3 p.m.

The Symphonic Band, conducted by Director of Bands John Ungurait, will perform the processional, recessional and the alma mater. The band will be joined by the Northwest Singers, under the direction of Susanne VanDyke, for "America the Beautiful."
Northwest President David M. Haraway will deliver the commencement address for both services.
The invocation for the 10 a.m. program will be given by Jerry Nichols, dean of Career-Technical Education on the Senatobia campus. Vice President for Educational Affairs Keith Godbold will deliver the invocation at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
