Flyfishing course set for Northwest

Just in time for Father's Day, Northwest Mississippi Community College's Division of Continuing Education will offer a new course -- "Flyfishing for the Beginner."

The class will be held June 7, 9 and 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Union Gym in McLendon Center.

"Students will learn about flyfishing tackle and techniques and be introduced to the basics of fly casting," said Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Continuing Education. "They will learn about leaders, knots and flies; and hooking, landing and fighting a fish."

Ned Segar will be the instructor for the course, which is open to ages 12 through adult. The fee is $40.
