Crappie Fishing class scheduled

A crappie fishing class will be offered by the Continuing Education division of Northwest Mississippi Community College in June.
The class will be taught on Tuesday and Thursday, June 15, 17, 22 and 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Room of Howard Coliseum on the Senatobia campus.
Jim Robbins, retired fish and wildlife biologist from the Corps of Engineers, will teach the class. Robbins, known as "the expert on crappie fishing," worked on assignments on lakes in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.
He is the author of "Crappie!" a book on this fishing sport, and has written numerous newspaper and magazine articles. He currently serves as a part-time guide at Moon Lake, Tunica Cutoff and Arkabutla lakes.
Included in the course will be biology of the crappie, equipment, where and how to fish, special techniques, photographing the catch and tournament fishing. A field trip is also included.
