Jazz Band to hold spring concert

The Northwest Mississippi Community College Jazz Band will hold its spring concert Tuesday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus. Admission to the concert is free.

The program will begin with Spera's "Blue Brass," followed by standards such as "Green Onions" and "All Night Rain." Vocalist Zach Hardy of Hernando will sing the Ray Charles classic "Georgia On My Mind," and Joanna Vinzetta of Southaven will be featured vocalist on Norah Jones' "Don't Know Why."

Also included on the program are "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," "Jump, Jive, and Wail," and "Tiger Den Blues," featuring guest guitar soloist Chris Love.

Members of the Northwest Jazz Band, under the direction of Howard Luttrell, are Sean Ambrose, Jerold Henderson, both of Independence; Jada Taylor, Ryan Joslin, Nathan Breckinridge, all of Southaven; Narada Snyder of Oxford; Jonathan Baker, Doron Reinsager, Nathan Gregory, all of Senatobia;

Colby Alford of Grenada; Ryan Crihfield, Brandon Graham, Jennifer Burkeen, John Payne, all of Hernando; Jacquea Johnson, Jonathan Goodwin, both of Charleston; Tommy Shroads of Batesville; Cole Howell, Barry Marshall, both of Munford, Tenn.; Johanna Becker of Arkabutla; Chris Knox of Bruce; and Nick Merritt of Olive Branch.
