Non-credit classes still available this spring

Several non-credit classes will be offered this spring by Continuing Education on Northwest Mississippi Community College's Senatobia campus.
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training will be offered April 24 through May 15. This class provides training through classroom learning and hands-on practice in surveillance skills, rescue skills, first aid training and CPR and professional lifeguard responsibilities. Julie Correro will teach the class on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the McLendon Center Union Pool. The fee is $160 and includes a book.
CPR Recertification, also to be taught by Correro, will be held Friday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Calhoun Building. This class is for CPR recertification for lifeguards.The fee is $30.
Lifeguard Recertification is set for Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the Union Pool. Correro is the instructor, and the fee is $80. This class meets the requirements of the American Red Cross for lifeguard recertification.
In the Lifelong Learning program, Using a Hand-Held GPS Receiver will be held Saturday, April 17. Bud Donahou will teach the class from9 a.m. to noon in the Burkes Building, and after lunch a practical navigation class will take place at the Northwest Farm. There is no charge for this class.
Learning the Digital Camera will be held Tuesday, April 27. Earline Cocke will teach the class from 1:30 to 4:40 p.m., in the Tunica Building. This class will cover the basics of digital photography. Microsoft Office software will be used to print photos. Participants should bring a digital camera and USB connection cable. The fee is $15.
