Non-credit classes announced

A variety of non-credit classes, offered through Northwest Mississippi Community College's Division of Continuing Education, have been scheduled for the Senatobia campus this fall, according to Coordinator Patricia Lowder.
"We have classes ranging from fly fishing to grant writing and from Spanish to jewelry making," said Lowder.
The following classes are set for August. Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in Room 110 of the Fine Arts Building. This short course teaches chords needed to play any pop song in any style and key. The fee is $45 plus $25 for a book/CD.
Beginner Conversational Spanish will be held Tuesdays, Aug. 31-Sept. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 120 of the Yalobusha Building. Deana Pittman will be the instructor. This beginner-level course will provide the basic Spanish conversational skills to communicate. The fee is $50. (1.0 CEUs upon request)
Community Choir, taught by Dr. Ken Sipley, will be held on Tuesdays, Aug. 31-Nov. 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Members of the group will meet weekly to learn choir music and vocal techniques with the goal of presenting a concert at the end of the semester. The fee is $75 which includes the music fee.
Children's Choir, with instructor Mary Sipley, is set for Tuesdays, Aug. 31-Nov. 30 in the Fine Arts Recital Hall from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Children intrested in developing singing and performing skills are invited to audition for a children's choir. Auditions will be Aug. 24 at 4:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. The fee is $50 which includes the music fee.
Some classes have limited enrollment, and pre-registration is encouraged. Other classes are scheduled for the remainder of the fall semester. For more information or to register for a class, contact Lowder at (662) 562-3349.
