A day trip to Strawberry Plains Audubon Center near Holly Springs Friday, Sept. 10, for the "River of Hummingbirds" is planned as part of Northwest Mississippi Community College's Lifelong Learning program.
The group will leave the Senatobia campus of Northwest at 12:30 p.m. and return to campus at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Continuing Education.
Participants can join hummingbird experts and naturalists at Strawberry Plains to witness the spectacular migratory event as the birds are on the move daily through the fields and woods of the area. Enthusiasts can watch as scientists will catch and band these tiny birds on site.
The fee is $15 per person, and the registration deadline is Sept. 1. For more information or to register, call Lowder at (662) 562-3349.
