The Northwest Mississippi Community College Symphonic Band will present its spring concert Thursday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus. "Portrait of Freedom" is the theme for the performance.

Included on the program will be "Americans We" by Henry Filmore, "The Star- Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key, "Thine Alabaster Cities Gleam" by Jerry Brubaker, "Light Cavalry" by Franz von Suppe and "George Washington Bicentennial March" by John Philip Sousa.

Joining Conductor John Ungurait and Assistant Conductor Howard Luttrell will be guest conductors John Fannin and Lance Cpl. Stephen Howell. Fannin is assistant director of Bands at Murray State (Ky.) University. He will conduct "Legend of Bafe" which was commissioned by the New Mexico chapter of Phi Beta Mu for the All State Symphonic Band.

Howell, a member of the Marine Corps Band, is an alumnus of Northwest and was a band director in Hernando before joining the military. He will conduct Sousa's "Semper Fidelis," considered by many musicians to be his most inspired march.

Admission to the concert is free.
