Northwest Mississippi Community College freshman tool and die technology major Steven Jenkins of Batesville is congratulated by instructor Jim Gilliam for his first-place finish at the annual State Leadership and Skills Conference at Jones County Junior College April 8-10. Jenkins won the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Lathe competition which was held for the first time this year. Jenkins will go on to compete on a national level in Kansas City, Mo., June 21-25

Dot Barnett of Batesville learns to navigate the Internet with the help of Northwest Mississippi Community College CPU Club member DeShaun Readus, a freshman from Sledge. The CPU Club offered an introductory workshop for senior citizens April 12-13 on the Senatobia campus.

Symphonic Band to present patriotic concert
