NWCC hosts football fundamentals camp

Over 300 youth attended the first annual Northwest Mississippi Community College football and Life Fundamentals Camp March 29 in Senatobia.

The event, which was sponsored by Sycamore Bank, was led by the Northwest football coaching staff. Youths were taught several football skills and techniques and competed in events such as a relay race, football toss, and a pass reception drill. There was also a a weightlifting competition held in Howard Coliseum. All participants received a free t-shirt and lunch.

Schools that were represented at the camp were Coldwater, Horn Lake, Lewisburg, Lake Cormorant, Horn Lake, Senatobia, Independence, Magnolia Heights, and Strayhorn.

"The camp was a great success and we would like to thank Sycamore Bank for being our sponsor," said Northwest Head Coach Ricky Woods. "We would also like to thank the Mississippi National Guard and Graves Oil Company for their generosity and support."
