BAND AND MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Ranger Marching Band The Northwest Ranger Marching Band performs during the fall semester each year at all home football games, an area marching festival (the Northwest Classic), and at selected parades. Its purpose is to provide color and atmosphere for athletic and community events and to promote and enhance the dignity and reputation of the college. This unit is open to any regularly enrolled student by audition, and scholarships are available to qualified students.
Northwest Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is a large group which studies and performs appropriate concert band repertoire. The group is a unit of Northwest students from many academic and career-technical study areas and provides an understanding and enjoyment of wind band literature through the playing of their instruments. Membership is by audition only.
The Northwest Jazz Band has developed a reputation of excellence in northwest Mississippi through performances during their yearly spring tour at special civic and community events throughout the Northwest district. The band performs the finest in professional jazz literature and is also featured in on-campus concerts. Members receive understanding and appreciation for this American art form through the study of many jazz styles such as swing, latin, and rock. Membership is by audition only, and scholarships are available to qualified students. The group is open to all full-time Northwest students.
Mighty Ranger Pep Band
The pep band is made up of members of the Jazz Band and performs for home basketball games. The unit fuses marching band, jazz, and rock styles in providing an exciting focus for the Ranger basketball tradition and serves as a quality example for area high school music students.

The Rangerettes dance team consists of 16 members who perform at all home football games and travel to two away games with the Ranger Marching Band. Six home performances during basketball season have recently been added to the program. Click here for more information.
