The Writing Center provides a place for all Northwest Mississippi Community College students to work on their writing. The Writing Center is staffed with consultants who have been trained to help others with their writing. The services are free to all Northwest students. We work by appointment, one-on-one with students in the Writing Center. There are four PCs and four laptops, available for student use in the Center.

What are the Writing Center opening hours?
Closed for lunch (12-1) each day.
When should I go to the Writing Center?
If you’ve been assigned a paper in one of your classes and you find yourself wondering: ”Have I done what the assignment asks?” or “Are there parts that are unclear?” or “Can I make sure that there aren’t a lot of grammar mistakes?” A consultant can help you answer all of those questions and many others.
What should I expect when I go to the Writing Center?
There are no grades, no homework, and no grammar drills at the Writing Center. Instead, you will be asked to identify why you’ve come to the Center, what sort of paper you’re working on, and when it is due. Then you and the consultant will discuss your concerns as well as any added suggestions that the consultant might have.
Where is the Writing Center?
The Writing Center is located on the Senatobia campus in the McLendon Center (the Union) on the second floor in room 222.
