The Howard Carpenter GED Scholarship is awarded to residents of the eleven county Northwest District based on GED test. The awards are up $635 per semester toward the cost of tuition and are for full-time Fall/Spring entering Freshman (more than 15 semester hours) only. The recipient must maintain a 2.0 grade point average during enrollment. A GED score of 600+ is required.
HOW TO APPLY
Step 1. Application for Admission to Northwest Mississippi Community College- Complete this form and attach a second copy of your GED transcript.
Step 2. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.gov . In order to receive a scholarship award you must complete the FAFSA.
Step 3. Application for Howard Carpenter Scholarship- be sure to attach a copy of your official GED transcript to the application. If you do not have a transcript, you may contact Ruby Dandridge at 662-562-3347 to obtain a transcript request form.
