Educators looking for continuing education units (CEUs) to renew their teaching license by the June 30 deadline can take advantage of two three-hour accelerated-pace courses offered at Northwest Mississippi Community College.
The college will offer Health (HPR 1213) June 2-6, Computer Concepts (CSC 1113) June 9-13 and Computer Applications (CSC 1123) June 16-20 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., all on the Senatobia campus. Each three-hour course costs $285. Participants will earn three semester hours or five CEUs.
“Teachers can find great options for CEU hours at Northwest year-round. Foreign languages, mathematics, all types of science, fine arts appreciation, accounting, real estate—there are so many classes to choose from,” said Division of Education Director, Julie Correro. “Classes in human growth and development, child psychology and first aid and CPR are really popular among elementary educators. We also offer some really fun humanities courses like film as literature and creative writing.”
Open registration for online and evening classes for the 2014 first summer session will be held Tuesday, May 27 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Interested participants will need to apply for admission to the college ahead of time.
