Before I came to Northwest I was pretty shy and very intimidated to meet new people and get involved, but this place has helped me grow as a leader and pulled confidence out of me that I never knew I had.

“I read somewhere that if you smile at least once a day, it can change your overall mood and vibe. Between school and cheerleading obligations things can get pretty hectic, but I just try my best to stay focused and smile through everything. Even if I’m not having the best day, I keep a smile on my face in hopes of making someone else’s day better.”

The scholarships are very helpful, and every little bit has helped our family. I’m not sure if my daughter and I would both be able to be in the program at the same time had it not been for the Foundation scholarships we received.

Northwest Mississippi Community College Bands concert April 25 at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. The concert is free of costs and is welcome to patrons from both Northwest and the community.

James Ungurait, Senatobia native and Northwest alumnus, is publishing his second novel "I'm the Same" on April 9 about a biracial young man fleeing from his small town in route to a writer's retreat in Oregon after graduating. This novel is a story of self-discovery and acceptance.

The Northwest Mississippi Community College Les Fauves art club will host its semiannual sale with items sold benefiting the art students and faculty. The sale is April 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northwest Art Gallery on the Senatobia campus.

The Northwest Mississippi Community College Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band concert will be held April 23 at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Director of the groups is John Ungurait, assistant director of Bands. The concert is free to the public.
