POSITION: Dean, Lafayette-Yalobusha Technical Center


  • Master’s Degree in Related Field
  • A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience leading an educational campus/center or department, governmental agency, and/or business entity or division
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills


  • PhD in Higher Education Administration or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the following areas: physical plant management, budget development and administration, strategic planning, organizational leadership, student services, business services, instruction, personnel, and/or public relations
  • Experience with the multi-campus environment


  1. Recommends to the President faculty members via The Vice President for Instruction & College Parallel Programs or the Vice President of Workforce Solutions & Career/Technical Education to be employed at their respective campus;
  2. Recommends to the President, via appropriate College executive leadership, administrators and staff to be employed at their respective campus;
  3. Accepts responsibility for the administration, improvement, and evaluation of the instructional programs at their respective campus;
  4. Works with the President and the College’s Executive Council in developing new programs in line with community needs;
  5. Supervises registration activities and plans class schedules to meet the needs of the students;
  6. Supervises the physical plant and all auxiliary operations, and maintains inventory control;
  7. Works with college-wide executive leadership to manage personnel in the departments of Bookstore, Business Office, Campus Police, Communications, Financial Aid, Learning Resources, and Information Technology;
  8. Approves all absences and leaves from work (vacation, sick leave, professional leave) for all personnel;
  9. Assists in planning for campus development and in the coordination of activities with those on other campuses and centers;
  10. Prepares and submits an annual budget to the President;
  11. Monitors budgets and approves expenditures;
  12. Serves as a member of the Executive Council and other Councils and Committees to ensure the effective coordination of the overall educational program;
  13. Provides leadership in achieving the stated goals and objectives of the Northwest Mississippi Community College District as they pertain to campus operations;
  14. Represents the College and plays a leadership role in the communities in Lafayette, Yalobusha, and Calhoun counties served by the Center;
  15. Assumes general supervision and control of professional staff development activities; and
  16. Performs other duties as assigned by the President.
