SENATOBIA – Northwest Mississippi Community College will celebrate the start of the 2018 fall sports season with its annual “Meet the Rangers” night on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m.
Admission is free for the event, which will take place at Bobby Franklin Field on the Senatobia campus.
Athletes from the football and men’s and women’s soccer teams, cheerleaders, Ranger Marching Band and Rangerettes will be on hand for the evening’s festivities.
This year, the Ranger band’s halftime show is titled “The Best Rock Anthems Ever” and will feature classic hits from AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne and Boston. Tracks include “Back in Black”, “School’s Out for Summer”, “Bad Medicine”, “Crazy Train” and “More Than a Feeling.”
Northwest’s women’s soccer team will host Motlow State to open the 2018 regular season on Friday, Aug. 24 and both men’s and women’s teams will welcome Southwest Mississippi on Saturday, Aug. 25.
On the gridiron, the nationally-ranked Rangers welcome East Central to Bobby Franklin Field on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6:30 to kickoff the 2018 football season.
