POSITION: Writing Center Coordinator—Online Services
RESPONSIBILITIES: Northwest Mississippi Community College seeks a coordinator for online services. The coordinator reports to the Division of Languages and Communication and the Writing Center Director. The coordinator will have the numerous responsibilities that come with maintaining the daily operations of a digital writing center as well as teaching first-year composition courses (developmental through English Composition I and II). Specific responsibilities will include oversight, training, and management of Writing Center tutors; planning, developing, and assessing content for the NWCC OWL; collecting, monitoring, and reporting Writing Center statistics for online and dual enrollment services; serving on committees; working with instructors; developing and implementing outreach programs for the online and dual enrollment populations. The coordinator will also teach sections of Accelerated Learning Program (ALP). This is a 10-month, faculty-rank position. Appointment will begin on August 1, 2018.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: A Master’s Degree in English, Composition/Rhetoric, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, or English Education from an accredited institution as of August 1, 2018, including at least 18 hours in ENG graduate-level courses. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: Writing center experience. Experience using Adobe Captivate or similar instructional design software. UX/UI experience. Experience teaching first-year composition courses (developmental through Composition I and II).
