Roberta Mayfield of Senatobia was recently honored for her 20 years of service to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
At the February meeting, Gale Cushman, president of the Foundation board praised Mayfield for her service. “Roberta has been at the forefront of the leadership of this Foundation. She has served as president, and not only has she and her family been general donors, but Roberta has encouraged others to support the work of the Foundation,” Cushman said.
According to Sybil Canon, Northwest associate vice president of Development and Special Projects, Mayfield and her family donated the land for the site of the Baptist Student Union at Northwest. The family gave a generous donation to establish the Thomas P. and Virginia Moore Wilson Endowment and have continued to give each year. “Her presence on our board has been extremely beneficial,” said Canon. “She has been tireless in her support of our students.”
Mayfield thanked the board and expressed her appreciation to them. “Serving on this board has been a wonderful experience. Every single one of the board members is dedicated to Northwest, and they have been an inspiration to me,” Mayfield said.
