POSITION:   Automotive Technology Instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:       A minimum of an associate degree from an ASE/NATEF accredited program and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.  A minimum of two (2) years of work experience as an automotive mechanic within the last five years:  five years or more experience is preferred.  ASE certification in all 8 ASE certifications is strongly preferred:

  • A1 Engine Repair
  • A2 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
  • A3 Manuel Drive Train & Axles
  • A4 Suspension And Steering
  • A5 Brakes
  • A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems
  • A7 Heating & Air Conditioning
  • A8 Engine Performance

RESPONSIBILITIES:     Instruct students in automotive technology courses; serve as an advisor in the program area; maintain an excellent learning environment; assist in job placement, development of curriculum, and selection of appropriate textbooks; maintain an accurate inventory; work with advisory committee; other duties as assigned by the District Career, Technical and Workforce Education Dean.
