The community is invited to taste some delicious treats and meet News Channel 3 Meteorologist Jim Jaggers at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Division of Nursing building on Thursday, March 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Jaggers will be on hand to sign the Nursing Division Cookbook from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. that day according to Dr. Denise Bynum, division director of Nursing.
The Division of Nursing is selling cookbooks to support Jaggers’ “Go Jim Go” campaign for LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis and Northwest nursing students.
Nursing faculty, former faculty, student nurses and graduates all contributed toward the cookbook, according to Bynum. “Half of the proceeds from the cookbook sales will benefit the ‘Go Jim Go’ campaign, and the other half will go to the Northwest Student Nurses Association,” Bynum said. Treats made from recipes in the book will be available for sampling, she said.
The cookbooks sell for $15, and will be available for purchase at the event. Previously purchased books can also be brought back for signing, according to Bynum.
