Foundation honors state leaders who served on board

Mississippi State Rep. Tommy Reynolds (left) and Doug Davis, chief of staff for the Office of the Mississippi Secretary of State, were recently visited in Jackson by Sybil Canon, associate vice president of Development and Special Projects for Northwest Mississippi Community College.  Canon presented gifts of appreciation to Reynolds and Davis for their service on the Northwest Foundation Board of Directors.  Reynolds, who serves District 33, representing Grenada, Tallahatchie, and Yalobusha counties, recently rotated off the board after serving over 20 years. Reynolds has personally endowed seven Northwest scholarship endowments.  Davis, a former state senator representing DeSoto County, has served six years and was also instrumental in establishing a recent Northwest nursing scholarship endowment.  Canon praised their service, “It lends prestige to our board to have these public servants also give their time, talents, and resources to help Northwest students.  While they are no longer board members, I know they will continue to be strong advocates for the students at all of Mississippi’s community colleges.” (Photo submitted)
