New student registration for the GED and High School Equivalency Exam (HSE) programs at Northwest Mississippi Community College will be taking place in January and February, according to Tim Chavez, director of Adult Basic Education at Northwest.
Registration is available both during the day and evening in DeSoto, Tate, Marshall and Tallahatchie counties.
In addition to classes that will help students with the reading, writing and math sections on the GED/HSE exam, students will also be exposed to real-life application of skills they will find in any business or industry setting, allowing graduates to find better paying jobs upon graduation.
Class times differ by service location. Class times and faculty information are available on the college’s website.
Anyone wishing to be contacted about joining any area location’s ABE classes should visit www.northwestms.edu/GED and fill out an interest form. A Northwest staff member will contact the student to answer any questions. For additional questions, please contact Transition Coordinator Betty Cossar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
