The Northwest Mississippi Community College Division of Fine Arts Theatre Department is in rehearsals for its next production, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” a musical based on the best selling children’s book by Judith Viorst. Viorst wrote the book and the lyrics for the play. The music was written by Shelly Markham.
The cast and crew for the production have been announced, according to director Sadie Shannon. Cast members are Chip Malone of Lake Comorant as Alexander; Cody Morris of Southaven as Dad/Dentist/Shoes Salesman; Ashley Simon of Senatobia as Mom/Teacher; Ensemble members are #1, Wesley Williamson of Olive Branch; #2, Heather Pate of Greenwood; #3, Charlotte Malone of Lake Comorant and #4, Jacob Griffin of Courtland.
The stage manager is Alexis Bryner of Southaven and assistant stage managers are Trent Harper of Southaven and Jenna Taylor of Walls. Lighting crew is Elizabeth Wiggins of Senatobia and Ashley Vinson of Holly Springs. Props crew is Jonathan Moten of Horn Lake and Taylor. Dance Choreography is by Megan Magadanz of Oxford and Pate. Costume assistant is Laurie Purtle of Southaven. Sound crew is Jean Luc Marti of Holly Springs and Hannah Herring of Horn Lake.
The house manager for the play is Aaron Brasher of Como and the house crew is Ben Wilkes of Courtland and Vinson.
Performance times for “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” are Thursday – Saturday, March 26-28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus.
Tickets for the play are $5, General Admission, and free for students.
