Set Up a Text Alert

As a part of our continued effort to provide all students and employees of Northwest Mississippi Community College with a safe environment, the College has partnered with Campus Cast to host our RANGER ALERT system.

Ranger Alert messages automatically pull from cell phone fields on your student profile/employee record.

Employees: If you are not receiving alerts, please contact Human Resources and have them enter a cell phone number on your profile.

Students:  Login to myNWCC, click on “Student Information”, “View my Information”.  Make sure there is an entry in the Cell Phone field.  If there is not or the number is incorrect, go to “Modify My Information” and enter a cell phone number.  This number must be entered in the Cell Phone field, not the Phone field.

Northwest will use the RANGER ALERT system to send notifications related to inclement weather, school closings, campus information, and emergencies on campus.  These alerts will be sent to your Northwest email account and via text message to the cell phone you have listed with the College.  We will also post RANGER ALERTS related to school closings and emergencies on campus to Twitter and Facebook accounts controlled by the College.

In the event that you do not wish to receive any of the alerts simply text STOP after receiving a RANGER ALERT via text message.  To stop emails, click on the link attached to any RANGER ALERT email you receive.
