Northwest Winds to present “A Night at the Movies”

    The Northwest Mississippi Community College Symphonic Winds and Wind Ensemble will present “A Night at the Movies,” featuring the music of John Williams on Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus.

    The Symphonic Winds will kick off the program with music from “Jurassic Park.” The theme from “Schindler’s List” will feature a clarinet solo by Dr. Amy Langley, woodwind instructor. The Symphonic Winds will conclude their portion of the program with the “Symphonic Suite from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.”

    Among the pieces preformed by the Wind Ensemble are the March from “1941,” “John Williams Wings, and “Raiders March.” The concert will conclude with the popular “Star Wars (Main Title).”

    The groups are under the direction of John Ungurait, director of bands and Ken Ortlepp and Jeff Triplett, assistant directors.
