Northwest Rodeo set for April 4-6
The ninth stop year of the Ozark Region Intercollegiate Rodeo Tour brings the Landers- Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ranger Rodeo to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Multipurpose Arena from Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6.
The main event, presented by Sycamore Bank, will begin at 7:30 each night. A Mutton Bustin’ contest, sponsored by RTS Trailer Sales and Service, will also be held 45 minutes prior to each performance for ages six and under or under 60 pounds.
Collegiate cowboys and cowgirls from 20 colleges and universities from across a seven-state area will converge on Senatobia for three nights of action as they ride and rope, hoping to garner points that will qualify them to compete at the College National Finals this June in Casper, Wyo.
Rodeo fans will have the opportunity to see some of the rankest livestock in the country as the big trucks from the Universal Rodeo company roll into town.
Rodeo funny man Dusty Myers returns to Northwest for the second year. A four-time selection to the International Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City, Myers keeps the laughs rolling as he dodges bulls and imparts his own style of fun and excitement to fans.
Tickets are on sale now at the Northwest Foundation Office, the Tate County Co-Op and at Tobie Town Music in Senatobia. General admission is $10 at the gate, and $8 in advance, while children six and under are free with a paid adult. Thursday, April 4 is Northwest Night. Admission is free with a Northwest ID. Friday is Rebel 93.5 night, and Saturday is Military Night and all military personnel are admitted free with a military ID.
